How does Nexrole connect to Substack — do you need my password?

Never. When you enable paid subscriptions, Substack sets up a Stripe account to process your payments. Nexrole connects to that same Stripe account via OAuth — one click. We can see who's subscribed, but we never touch your Substack login, create charges, or move any money.

Question 2

I already have paying subscribers. What happens to them?

Accepted Answer

Their payments are already in your Stripe account — Nexrole can verify them instantly. The only step: send your existing subscribers one email with your join link. They click it once, connect Discord, and the role is granted on the spot. Every new subscriber after that is fully automatic.

What happens when a subscriber cancels?

Accepted Answer

Within seconds of Stripe processing the cancellation, Nexrole removes the Discord role. They lose access to your private channels immediately — no manual work required.

Can I create different channels for paid vs free subscribers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You choose which Discord role Nexrole assigns. You can create a private channel visible only to members with that role, so paying subscribers get exclusive access automatically.

I already have an existing Discord server — will this break anything?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. Nexrole's bot only manages the single role you configure. It doesn't touch any other roles, channels, permissions, or server settings.

Is my subscribers' payment data safe?

Accepted Answer

Nexrole never stores payment details. We connect through Stripe's OAuth API and only read subscription status — we can see who's active or cancelled, nothing else. We never create charges or access billing info. Card numbers never touch our servers.

Do I need a credit card to start the free trial?

Accepted Answer

No. Sign in and your 7-day trial starts immediately — no card, no checkout. You only enter payment details if you choose a plan to keep syncing after the trial.

Question 8

What happens when my trial ends?

Accepted Answer

If you've picked a plan, billing starts then — we email you a reminder before the trial ends so it's never a surprise. If you haven't, role syncing simply pauses until you choose one. You're never charged automatically.

What if my subscriber count outgrows the Creator plan?

Accepted Answer

The Creator plan supports up to 100 subscribers. If you're growing fast, you can upgrade to Scale (unlimited) from your billing page at any time — it takes effect immediately.

Question 10

If I cancel Nexrole, what happens?

Accepted Answer

Syncing stops — new subscriptions and cancellations on Stripe will no longer trigger role changes in Discord. Existing roles stay as-is; we don't mass-remove them. You're in control of what happens in your own Discord server.
